Introduction These scholarships are intended for female students who are U.S. citizens and pursuing education in Washington State. Applications must include all required materials and meet the specific criteria noted for each award. Eligibility - Be a female student and a U.S. citizen. - Satisfy any age requirements specified by the individual scholarship (when applicable). - Have been a Washington State resident for at least one year. - Be officially accepted into, or enrolled in, a program at an accredited Washington State institution, or be enrolled in an online accredited program that is recognized as a Washington State educational institution. - Demonstrate academic ability. - Demonstrate financial need. - Provide an official copy of your transcript. - Fill out every page of the application form and attach all required supporting documents. Application submission and deadline - A completed application plus every required supporting document must be submitted together. - If you are applying for more than one scholarship, include any additional materials required for each specific scholarship listed after the SCHOLARSHIP title. - Deadline: All materials must be received by May 1, 2026. Foundation Scholarships Available General Scholarships - Mature Woman Educational Scholarship — $3,000.00 Offered to women age 30 or older (age 30+ by March 15) who are pursuing retraining or continuing education. - Single Parent Scholarship — $3,000.00 Available to a single woman of any age planning to return to school or continue education beyond high school who has one or more dependent children under 18 living at home. - BPW/WA Past President Memorial Scholarship — $3,000.00 Awarded to a woman age 30 or older (age 30+ by March 15) in memory of past presidents of Washington State Business and Professional Women. - Lulu Fairbanks Memorial Scholarship — $3,000.00 Open to women of any age attending an accredited higher education institution in Washington State; no specific major required. This award commemorates Lulu Fairbanks, the first Washington State BPW president. - Doris Groth Troxel Memorial Scholarship — $2,000.00 Offered to women of any age for study at an accredited Washington State institution, with no field-of-study restriction. This scholarship honors Doris Groth Troxel—an educated, professional advocate for education and the environment, and active Vancouver Local member. This is the inaugural offering of this scholarship. Designated Funds Scholarships (Funded by local groups, businesses, or individuals; many have additional eligibility criteria.) - SouthWest Seattle BPW (Eileen Henry Memorial Scholarship) — $1,000.00 For a mature woman from South King County who wishes to continue her higher education. - Margaret Way Scholarship — $1,000.00 For a woman age 18 or older accepted to South Seattle College (first preference). If no eligible student from South Seattle College is identified, the award may go to a female student at another accredited Washington State institution. - Emerald City BPW Foundation Scholarship — $2,000.00 For a woman residing in the Greater Puget Sound region (King, Kitsap, Pierce, or Snohomish Counties) who is entering or continuing a program that advances her career goals, demonstrates high scholastic ability, and has financial need. - South Puget Sound BPW Legacy Scholarship — $1,000.00 (Check for offer deadline) For a woman age 30 or older who lives in and plans to attend an accredited school in the Greater Puget Sound area. No restriction on course of study. (Non-military applicants only.) - Wenatchee BPW Mature Woman Scholarship — $1,250.00 (Check for offer deadline) For a woman who is at least 25 years old at the time of application, is a Washington State resident at the time of application, holds a high school diploma or GED, and is enrolled or accepted into postsecondary professional courses or a technical training program.
