Scholarship Overview
The Chesterfield County Farm Bureau is offering four scholarships of $1,000 each.
Who is eligible
- Be enrolled and in good standing at your current school.
- Provide an acceptance letter from the college or institution you will attend.
- Preference will be given to students who plan to major in agriculture-related fields, though applicants from other disciplines are eligible.
- Parents or legal guardians must be members of the Chesterfield County Farm Bureau and reside in Chesterfield County.
Priority and award distribution
- One scholarship will be awarded to a qualifying student from each of Chesterfield County’s four public high schools, provided a suitable candidate is available.
- If a qualified applicant is not identified at each school, the scholarship committee may select multiple recipients from some schools, provided the total number of awards does not exceed five.
- Graduating high school seniors receive priority. If no suitable senior is found, the committee may consider students already enrolled in postsecondary education.
Application requirements and submission
Applications must be postmarked by March 31st and include all of the following:
- Completed application form
- Copy of your academic transcript
- Letter of recommendation from an agriculture teacher or another related instructor, guidance counselor, or principal
- Personal essay written by the applicant
- Letter of acceptance from the college or school you plan to attend
