Grand Haven Area Community Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Grand Haven Area Community Foundation
Overview
Grand Haven Area Community Foundation awards scholarships through a competitive process using donor-established criteria. Donors may base awards on factors such as demonstrated financial need, the specific school you attend, academic performance, or your personal and career objectives. Each application is evaluated carefully through the Foundation’s thorough internal selection process.
Key dates
- Application opens: December 1, 2025
- Application deadline: January 30, 2026
Who is eligible
To apply, you must be a permanent resident of the greater Grand Haven area, which includes Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg, Allendale, or Coopersville.
How the program works
There is a single application for all Foundation scholarships. Complete the one application and you will automatically be considered for every scholarship for which you meet the donor-defined requirements.
Step-by-step application instructions
1. Review available scholarships
Visit the scholarship listings on the Foundation’s scholarships page to see descriptions and eligibility requirements. Indicate the boxes that match your activities, intended field of study, and chosen school (when applicable). You do not need to submit separate applications for individual scholarships—your single submission will be evaluated for all that fit your profile.
2. Start your application
Click the Apply Now button to open the application portal. Create a login (username and password) and follow the prompts to complete each section of the application.
3. Required supporting documents
In addition to the online form, you must upload:
- A copy of your high school or college transcript.
- Any additional materials specified by particular scholarships (for example, letters of recommendation).
- Page 1 of your Student Aid Report (SAR) showing your Student Aid Index (SAI).
4. Review before submission
Carefully proofread and verify every response and attachment in your application before submitting to ensure accuracy and completeness.
5. Submit online
Submit your completed application through the portal. If you encounter an error message while submitting, contact Kim McLaughlin at kmclaughlin@ghacf.org right away—an error may prevent your application from being properly received and could result in missing information.
