Fight4Vets’ Veterans’ Disability attorneys are proud to introduce The Dependent Scholarship. As a law firm committed to supporting disabled Veterans and their families, we are offering this award to encourage service members, Veterans, and their dependents to continue their education and advance their careers.

Purpose Serving in the armed forces can bring difficult challenges — long separations from family, physical wounds, and emotional strain — yet military life also provides structure, valuable skills, and enduring relationships that often lead to personal growth. For this scholarship, we want applicants to reflect on the positive influences the military has had on their lives. Active service members, Veterans, and close family members are invited to share how military service — whether your own, a parent’s, or a spouse’s — has enriched your life.

Who may apply

• Open only to Active Duty military personnel, Veterans, or children/dependents of an Active Duty service member or Veteran.
• Applicants must be U.S. legal residents living in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.
• Eligible educational statuses include current high school seniors, students in vocational programs, undergraduate or graduate students, or Veterans.
• Applicants must be enrolled (or planning to enroll for the upcoming Fall semester) in a vocational program or a two- to five-year post-secondary institution, unless the applicant is a Veteran.
• Employees of Fight4Vets, their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, spouse), and others residing in the same household (related or not) are ineligible to apply.
• Candidates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.

Application materials To be considered, applicants must submit all of the following:

• An essay of 750–1,000 words responding to: How has the military positively shaped you — through your own service, growing up in a military family, or being the spouse of someone in the military?
• A current, professional résumé outlining academic and professional experience.
• Academic transcripts from your current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or recent transfers may provide an unofficial transcript from their current institution along with the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school seniors must also include proof of acceptance to their college or university.

Selection timeline The recipient of The Dependent Scholarship will be selected during the month following the application deadline.
