Kentucky FB Scholarships

Overview
The Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation is offering county and state college scholarships to high school seniors for the current academic year. Awards may be used for tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other education-related costs. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the college, university, or proprietary school the student selects.
Eligibility
To qualify, an applicant must:
- Be the child of a Kentucky Farm Bureau member and maintain that membership for the duration of the scholarship.
- Graduate from high school in the same year they apply.
- For the Leadership in Agriculture Scholarship specifically, have parents who are actively engaged in production agriculture.
Not eligible
The following are ineligible to receive these scholarships:
- Children of Kentucky Farm Bureau Claims Personnel
- Children of Kentucky Farm Bureau State Board Directors
- Children of Kentucky Farm Bureau State & District Employees
- Children of Kentucky Farm Bureau State Women’s Advisory Committee Members
Special note
Children of Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Agency Managers, Agents, Agency Secretaries, and CSRs are not eligible for these scholarships; they may only apply for the Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Agents Association Scholarship and should use that application.
How awards are used and paid
Scholarship funds can be applied toward tuition, housing, books, and other educational expenses. Payments will be disbursed directly to the recipient’s chosen accredited college, university, or trade/proprietary school.
Rules and requirements
- Recipients may attend any accredited college or trade school.
- The recipient must enroll as a beginning freshman no later than the fall semester immediately after high school graduation. If enrollment is prevented by circumstances beyond the student’s control (for example, serious illness or injury), the student must enroll by the spring semester of the following year.
- With the exception of serious illness or injury, withdrawing from school will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
- Recipients must be full-time students each semester unless a written request for an exception is submitted and approved.
- A transcript must be submitted annually before additional scholarship disbursements will be made to the college.
- Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 after each semester or the scholarship will be forfeited. (Only beginning freshmen will be granted a second chance to raise their overall GPA.)
- All application materials must be received by 11:59 PM (EST) ON FEBRUARY 28, 2026.
- The scholarship committee has final authority on the interpretation of these rules. All application materials become the property of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation and will not be returned.
